Jaguar XKR-S - Special edition Jaguar XKRS

The Jaguar XKR-S: a lightweight sports coupe that takes the Jaguar sports car experience to a new level. As the fastest production XK, it delivers a combination of high performance, dynamic excellence and crafted luxury that is unique to Jaguar.

The Jaguar XKR-S was revealed publicly for the first time at the Geneva International Autoshow on March 4th and will be available from summer 2008.

XKR-S will be offered for sale exclusively in Europe with only 200 being built in all, 50 of these will be available in the UK.

Powered by Jaguar´s acclaimed 4.2litre V8 supercharged engine - featuring twin air intakes and variable inlet camshaft phasing to develop 416 PS and a peak torque of 560Nm - XKR-S has been developed for the true Jaguar enthusiast.

With recalibrated engine management, the XKR-S reaches an electronically limited top speed of 174mph – 19mph faster than the standard production XKR. This additional performance is made accessible by improved aerodynamics to reduce drag and lift, and a unique suspension set-up.

XKR-S is painted in Ultimate Black, sits on unique, lightweight 20" Vortex forged alloy wheels with red Jaguar "Heritage" centre badges and bespoke tyres, and features a unique "XKR-S" badge on the rear of the car.

Ride height has been reduced by 10mm and the exterior features a host of subtle styling cues that make it recognisably different from standard production XKR models. These include a new front aerodynamic splitter, side sill extensions, revised rear spoiler and rear diffuser panel, as well as contrasting finishes to details such as the front mesh grille, side power vents, sills and rear diffuser panel.

The interior environment reflects Jaguar´s vision of the XKR-S as an uncompromisingly luxurious sports car. The soft grain leather trim is finished in Charcoal with Ivory twin-needle contrast stitching, with leather wrapping the seats, instrument panel top, centre console, inner door panels and rear side panels. This is complemented by Piano Black veneer, Charcoal Alston luxury headlining, plus a revised instrument cluster - calibrated to accommodate the higher top speed and featuring XKR-S branding.

A very special interior is completed by the contrast-stitched leather trimmed steering wheel, alloy and leather gear selector with alloy surround, bright aluminium pedals, and XKR-S branded head-restraints, tread-plates and carpet mats.
